Tell us two truths and a lie, in random order.
1. When my mom was pregnant with my youngest sister, my younger sister and I made a bet on her biological sex. I lost a penny.

2. I’m a vegan who believes that veganism is only issues of nonhuman animal rights and environment. I ignore every other system of oppression. Intersectionality? Nah, not for me.

3. I’m the person who dances at concerts even when nobody else is. Sorry for the second-hand embarrassment.

Tell us about a teacher or mentor who has impacted your personal growth or critical thinking.
Dean Q from Harvey Mudd College helped me get on the path towards self-empowerment. Every interaction I had with him was encouraging and so life-affirming. No matter how serious the matter was, we could always have a good laugh. He guided me through my stubbornness and helped me admit and realize epiphanies important to my never-ending journey of self-actualization.

What do you like to do for fun?
I mostly like to lay around in the sun, watching movies and reading books. I really like being outside, going for walks, and gawking at nature. When I feel inspired, I write, draw, paint, and knit.

What’s one of your favorite quotes?
“He allowed himself to be swayed by his conviction that human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give birth to them, but that life obliges them over and over again to give birth to themselves.” – Gabriel Garcia Marquez
