This year, KAMP hosted its annual summer retreat near beautiful Julian. Fifteen people attended the three-day retreat to learn about KAMP’s history, teaching philosophy, programming, and plans for the future.Workshops consisted of a sala talk, KAMP’s historical timeline, classroom facilitation, Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed, lesson planning, and assessments. We also did team building exercises and a hike to the mid-summit of Volcan Mountain. With the generous support of Suzie’s Farms, this was the first retreat KAMP attempted to eliminate as much processed foods from the weekend’s planned meals.
It is with tremendous honor to welcome five new coordinators for the 2014-2015 academic school year:
Romyn Sabatchi, Executive Assistant
Kimberly Paule, Assistant Education Coordinator
Marc Pescadera, Mentor Development Coordinator
AC Boral, Digital Content Coordinator
John Camero, Historian
Congratulations on your new positions!
If you are interested in taking on a larger role within KAMP, we will be hosting a winter retreat in January 2015. Please contact us at email@example.com for more details.
